HAECHITECH – 3D HALL SENSOR MXM1400

With the MXM1400, Haechitech offers a digital 3D Hall sensor with programmable sensitivity & resolution plus various additional functions. The MXM1400 detects the magnetic field strength and the angle of the rotating magnetic field with 12-bit digital output.

In addition to monitoring the rotating field signal quality, this also enables functions such as push-button functions.

For applications where low power consumption must be achieved, the power-down mode can be used. The low power mode reduces the current consumption down to typ. 3µA. At a measuring rate of 5Hz, the current consumption is typ. 10µA. In addition to a one-time measurement mode, continuous measurement is also possible. This allows the MXM1400 to be used in a wide variety of application scenarios.

Incremental quadrature (A/B) output, PWM output (for the rotary field) and SPI or I2C interfaces are available to connect with the host controller. MXM1400 also offers user-selectable interrupt conditions.

A small DFN package is available for space-saving designs – and an SOP-8 for low-cost PCBs.

Below is a brief overview of the sensor parameters:

  • VDD: 1.65V – 3.6V
  • Resolution: 12Bit (Z), 8Bit (X&Y)
  • Measuring range:
    • +/-2 mT up to 40 mT (Digital Mode)
    • +/-30 mT up to 90 mT (Angular Mode)
  • Current consumption: 3µA (power down), 10µA @ 5Hz
  • Interface: I2C, SPI, PWM, A/B, Interrupt
  • Operating temperature range: -40°C to 125°C
  • Packages: DFN-10 (3.0 x 3.0 x 0.8 mm³), SOP-10 (6.0 x 4.9 x 1.7mm³)

We will be happy to advise you on the other possibilities of the MXM1400 and the other hall switches and sensors as well as electronic compass and environmental sensor products from Heachitech.
