Attend – Safe USB-C connections: With the new USB-CPCP-1200x cables, the Taiwanese manufacturer ATTEND offers a screw locked USB-C cables for quality & high-performance reliable connections.
The new cables meet the USB 3.2 Gen1 specification for data rates of up to 5 Gbit/s. The screw connection option fulfils the USB Type-C Locking Connector Specification Rev 1.0.
With the two types of cable US-CPCP-12001 (single-screw locking) and US-CPCP-12002 (dual-screw locking), Attend now offers a robust solution that is ideal for environments in which the advantages of the USB-C standard are to be utilised, but which have increased requirements for a safe and reliable plug connection, e.g:
The specification already defined the mechanics in 2016 to guarantee a safe and robust plug connection for USB Type-C. Two variants were defined for different requirements in device construction:
Single screw lock: If a solution for space-saving designs is required, the variant in which an M2 screw connection is provided in the centre at a distance of 6.8mm relative to the USB Type-C connector is ideal.
Double screw lock: If a solution with redundant locking is preferred, the second variant is chosen, in which two M2 screw connections are located at a distance of 15 mm from each other symmetrically in the horizontal plane of the USB Type-C connector to its center.
Both cable types are 1.2 metres long by default. Their power rating is 15W (5V/3A) and have been designed for 10000 mating cycles. They are also approved for the temperature range from -40°C to 85°C.
