Epson IMUs are compact, lightweight 6-axis sensors that provide high-resolution inertial data even under demanding environmental conditions. They operate reliably across temperature variations, shock, and vibration—at a significantly superior level compared to IMUs used in consumer devices such as mobile phones.

With the M-G355QDG0, Epson has expanded its IMU portfolio with a model designed for applications with enhanced functional safety requirements. This IMU complies with IEC 61508 SIL-1. It is based on the well-established M-G366PDG0 and retains Epson’s compact form factor of 24 × 24 × 10 mm. This enables easier upgrades of existing designs and reduces evaluation time.

The IMU offers a gyroscope measurement range of ±450 °/s, a selectable acceleration range of ±8 G or ±16 G, SPI/UART interfaces, 16/32-bit output, and a maximum data rate of 400 Hz.

The gyro bias instability is only 1.2°/h, and the ARW just 0.08°/√h.
