Precise time keeping, higher accuracy over temperature and low power

Munich, August 23, 2018 – Epson Europe Electronics GmbH (“Epson”) presents the RX8804 DTCXO RTC with precise time keeping, higher accuracy over temperature and low power.RX8804CE

Designed for precision time keeping, Epson’s RX8804 uses Digitally Temperature-Compensated Crystal Oscillator (DTCXO) technology to achieve ±3.4 or ±8 ppm accuracy over temperature of -40 to +85 °C or -40 to +105 °C respectively, equivalent to 9 or 20 seconds per month. This high accuracy is essential for precise time keeping, as required by eMeters, lighting, and other industrial or outdoor applications.
Epson’s RX8804 includes a crystal, a digitally temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (DTCXO), and counters to keep track of time and date. Epson’s RX8804 also includes automatic battery backup and time-keeping functions such as alarms and timers.
Epson’s RX8804 with a supply voltage of 1.6-5.5 V is low power 0.35 μA (typ) backup current, has a clock output of 1 Hz, 1024 Hz, or 32.768 kHz and is offered in a small package (3.2 x 2.5 x 1.0 mm3).
