Espressif has now introduced the ESP32-E22, the company’s first Wi‑Fi 6E SoC and the foundation of a new product line that expands its in-house portfolio “upwards.”
It is designed as a radio co-processor and takes over all network and protocol processing, allowing host processors to focus entirely on the actual application.
ESP32 top-end solution – ESP32-E22
The new SoC offers tri-band Wi‑Fi 6E in the 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz frequency ranges. It combines 160 MHz channel bandwidth, 2×2 MU‑MIMO, beamforming, and advanced link-layer scheduling mechanisms to ensure high data throughput, low latency, and reliable communication in dense RF environments. The ESP32-E22 also provides both Bluetooth Classic (BR/EDR) and Bluetooth Low Energy 5.4, including coexistence algorithms for stable parallel operation with Wi‑Fi 6E.
Application examples for the ESP32-E22
With this product, Espressif targets a wide range of demanding applications, including high-resolution streaming, wireless video links, next-generation smart home hubs, connected household appliances, industrial automation, bridge solutions, and AR/VR accessories. These are applications where data rates with particularly low latency play a crucial role. The ESP32-E22 highlights Espressif’s commitment to providing a powerful, secure, and scalable platform for modern wireless applications.
