Distribution agreement with Shikino High-Tech: The collaboration with Shikino High-Tech was launched in 2024 to promote the Japanese manufacturer’s products outside of Japan. This cooperation has now been further strengthened and a distribution agreement has been signed.

Shikino has been developing camera modules and image processing IP since 2004. Thanks to its many years of experience in a wide range of applications, Shikino can offer customized solutions for your application in addition to standard products.

In our article here we give a brief overview of Shikino’s portfolio. As mentioned above, the range offers a very flexible selection of camera modules.

Product Catalogue

There are modules with rolling and global shutter with 0.3M to 2M pixels available. You can choose from a wide range of interfaces such as USB, MIPI, Ethernet, digital (parallel, LVDS) and analog signals.

Modules with image pre-processing are also offered. These include, for example, distortion correction, fish-eye to panorama conversion or automatic bar/QR code recognition.

KBCR-iC41MG AI powered camera module

With the new intelligent camera module KBCR-iC41MG, Shikino is also integrating the possibility of using AI algorithms. Here, Shikino relies on the RZ/V2L series from Renesas as the processor.

KBCR-iC41MG

This enables image recognition algorithms to be executed directly on the module and to transfer only the results via the host interface – good for applications that have high data protection requirements and must avoid the storage or direct availability of live images.
