Geehy – G32R501 Real-Time MCU

Geehy – G32R501 Real-Time MCU: Geehy is a Chinese semiconductor manufacturer focused on industrial and automotive-grade microcontrollers, analog and mixed-signal ICs, and SoCs, drawing on around 20 years of experience in IC development.

In several R&D centers, Geehy has developed a broad MCU portfolio for measurement applications, secure data transmission, and real-time-capable control in automotive, industrial, and smart energy systems.

The new G32R501 series expands this portfolio with high-performance microcontrollers specifically designed for demanding real-time control in power electronic systems.

Geehy – G32R501 Real-Time MCU at a glance

The G32R501 series offers real-time microcontrollers based on Arm Cortex-M52 single- and dual-core architectures (Arm v8.1-M). These MCUs can run at up to 250 MHz and achieve computing performance in real-time applications comparable to an 800 MHz Cortex-M7 MCU.

To make this possible, the devices provide 640 KB Flash and 128 KB SRAM as well as TCM (tightly coupled memory) for time-critical code

Equally important are the accelerators for signal processing (Arm Helium DSP, FPU, Zidian Math Extension (more details in Appl. Note AN1132).

To close the control loop, fast 12-bit ADCs with up to 3.45 Msps and high-resolution PWM channels with 150 ps resolution are available.

Thanks to AEC-Q100 qualification and IEC 61508 SIL2 support, the series is also designed for safety-relevant automotive and industrial applications. The derivatives offer at least an extended temperature range from -40 °C to 105 °C, with options up to +125 °C for the dual-core variants and automotive derivatives with 640 KB Flash.

Application fields for the Geehy – G32R501 Real-Time MCU

Typical application fields of the G32R501 series include power electronic systems such as PV/storage inverters, bidirectional DC/DC converters, and server or industrial power supplies, where high efficiency, power density, and fast control loops are required.

In addition, the microcontroller targets charging infrastructure and onboard chargers as well as UPS systems.

The G32R501 MCUs are also suitable for servo drives and robotics, where precise motor control is essential.
