Microchip offers one of the most extensive arrays of clock distribution product lines in the industry. Ranging from 2 to 22 outputs, they support differential (LVPECL, LVDS, HCSL, CML) and single-ended CMOS outputs, and have a maximum clock rate of 7.0 GHz and data rate of 10.7 Gbps, with very low additive jitter. Microchip’s clock distribution family consist of TCXO fanout buffers, crystal or reference input fanout buffers, signal translators, cross-point switches, high-performance clock dividers, receiver-buffer drivers, multiplexers, delay lines and logic gates.
 


MEMS Timing

Being a disruptive technology over the century-old quartz oscillator, Microelectromechanical Systems (MEMS) based oscillators have received wide market adoption in recent years due to the reliability, short lead times and small package sizes. Microchip is the leader in this rapidly growing market and can help you identify solutions for your timing needs. We offer industry’s most complete MEMS-based timing solutions that include both single output oscillators that are drop-in replacements to the traditional quartz oscillators, and multiple output clock generators that can provide a  highly-reliable and accurate reference clock to your system without the need of an external reference crystal.

Silicon MEMS-based timing devices offer high reliability (including AEC-Q100 certification for automotive use), wide operating temperatures (-55⁰C to 125⁰C), superb shock and vibration resistance, high accuracy (±10ppm) and small size (1.6mm x 1.2mm).

PCIe Timing

Through the years, PCI Express® (PCIe®) protocol has evolved to accommodate the needs of higher speeds, imposing stringent requirements for a reliable clock source. Microchip offers a comprehensive line of PCIe® Gen 4 compliant oscillators, clock generators and buffers to address this need. Our timing parts not only meet the PCIe® jitter requirements, but also allow allocation of up to 70% of total jitter margin to the rest of the system. With our highly integrated single-chip solutions, designers can reduce component count and board area without sacrificing performance.
