Air Quality Sensors

To assess indoor air quality, monitoring systems have traditionally measured a combination of temperature, humidity and carbon dioxide (CO2) levels. Most consumers, however, evaluate air quality by the concentration of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), such as smoke, cooking odors, bio-effluence, and pollutants coming in from outdoors, or from human activities inside the building.

The ams iAQ Indoor Air Quality modules are low-cost, ultra-compact solutions for the detection of poor air quality. The modules use micro-machined metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) gas sensors to detect a broad range of VOCs while correlating directly with CO2 levels in the room.

Gas Sensors

The AS-MLV-P and -P2 are high-performance sensor components which are highly sensitive to VOCs, and which provide for superior measurement of indoor air quality. Produced using a combination of thin-film, thick-film and other patent-pending proprietary technologies developed by ams, the components are available in a package which offers the ultimate in design efficiency.

Hydrogen Sensors

Hydrogen is an alternative fuel source with the potential to offer readily renewable clean power for automotive, industrial, commercial, residential and consumer applications. The highly selective and fast-responding ams sensor modules detect hydrogen leaks in vehicles, around fueling stations and in garages. Other applications include control of fuel cell efficiency and exhaust gas. Unlike sensors that are sensitive to a variety of combustible gases, ams sensors measure hydrogen gas levels highly selectively, without interference from background gases or water vapor.
